JAY BERNSTEIN
Jay Bernstein, the host of Shalom USA, is 45 years old and a native
Baltimorean. Jay attended the Talmudical Academy of Baltimore, and
graduated from New York’s Yeshiva University with degrees in political
science and in Hebrew teaching. He also holds a law degree from New York
University, and a master’s degree in Jewish history form Baltimore Hebrew
University. Jay is employed as an attorney with the St. Paul Company. His
communal activities include service on the boards of Congregation Shomrei
Emunah and of the Lubavitch Center. Jay also co-founded People Against
Hate, a grass roots group which fought anti-semitism, and Advocates for
Leadership in Educational Funding, an advocacy group on behalf of Jewish
education. Jay, his wife Dina and their three children reside in the
Baltimore area.
LARRY COHEN
Larry Cohen, the producer of Shalom USA, is 46 years old and a native
Baltimorean. Larry attended the Talmudical Academy of Baltimore, and
graduated from Towson State University with a degree in mathematics. He is
employed by the Social Security Administration as a Computer Systems
Analyst. Larry has served the Baltimore Jewish community as president and
board member of the Religious Zionists of America, Baltimore District; board
member of the Talmudical Academy; and, vice-chairman of the board of the Ner
Tamid Congregation. He also co-founded People Against Hate, a grass roots
group which fought anti-semitism, and Advocates for Leadership in
Educational Funding, an advocacy group on behalf of Jewish education. Larry,
his wife Laura and their three children reside in the Baltimore area.
